The Village Building Co.
The Village Building Co. is an award-winning national property development group. VBC first commenced operations in 1988 as a land developer supplying member builders with serviced land in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), and has since expanded its areas of operation and target markets. In addition to its Canberra base, VBC has permanent offices and areas of operation in Coffs Harbour, Wollongong and Brisbane.
What Does VBC Do?
VBC creates residential and mixed-use environmentally sensitive living estates. It also rehabilitates and transforms old industrial sites into thriving residential communities.
Governed by a Board of Directors, VBC’s professional staff manages all phases of project acquisition, planning, development, cash flows and financial reporting, marketing and sales.
It undertakes projects both in its own right and in joint venture with land owners and/or project-specific investment syndicates.
Creating Communities
VBC’s key focus when developing each major self contained estate is to maximise the sense of community for people living within the estate. Residents are encouraged to participate in community events. Most estates incorporate open spaces, parkland, boardwalks, ponds and bike paths.
Agents For Change
VBC was instrumental in negotiating with Pine River Shire in QLD, Wollongong City Council in NSW and the ACT Government for the introduction of regulations encouraging high quality integrated housing. In the ACT it also sponsored industry seminars to promote industry support for energy efficiency ratings (EER) in house design.
