Albert Dabas

Deputy Chief Executive, Company Secretary

Prior to joining VBC in 1993, Albert worked in various financial and operational management roles for Hooker Corporation Ltd, the Wheelock Marden Group, the Mutual Home Loans Fund of Australia Limited, Information Electronics Limited and Argyle Homes. He is responsible for the financial structure and feasibility of new project proposals going to the Board and gives high level assistance to the Managing Director and the Board on all matters. He has particular responsibility for Coffs Harbour, Brisbane and financial matters and is a “key person” under VBC’s Australian Financial Services Licence.

 

Ken Ineson

General Manager, Special Projects & Feasibilities
C.P.E.; B.E. (Civil); Grad. Dip Eng Man; MIE (Aust)

Ken started with VBC in 1996 as Project Manager for ACT and NSW residential developments. He has a very broad experience in civil and infrastructure projects, and has managed the development of over 4000 residential blocks. He is currently managing the rezoning of Tralee, the approved design and construction of the Stromlo and Uriarra villages.

 

Hans Sommer

General Manager, Planning & The Illawarra

Hans held senior positions in the National Capital Development Commission (NCDC), was head of ACT Government Land Development and was the ACT Government Director on 14 joint venture land development boards. Hans commenced at VBC in 1998. He handles major planning issues in VBC projects and some project acquisition proposals going to the Board. He is currently managing the Wollongong office which includes the two major projects of Edgewood and Bulli.

 

John Kenworthy

General Manager, Housing Operations
B.E. (Civil)

John worked with engineering consultants Gutteridge Haskins & Davey (GHD) from 1973, undertaking design and supervision of land subdivision and housing projects in the Northern Territory and ACT. In 1988 John joined VBC as Senior Projects Manager until 1995. From 1995 to 2003 John managed his own steel framing business and consulted to VBC and the Hindmarsh Group. John has been Chair of the MBA ACT Residential Builders Council and has served on numerous ACT Government and industry technical committees. Since rejoining the Company in 2003 John has overseen civil or housing construction across the Group. He now manages the Group's housing operations.

 

Vince Whiteside

Chief Financial Officer
B. Fin. Admin; FCPA; CFTP; GAICD

Vince was an Internal Auditor with Unilever before spending five years with Australian National Industries in Corporate Financial Accountant and Financial Controller roles. From 1989 to 1993 he was a Financial Controller with Collins & Leahy Holdings in New Guinea. An active member of CPA Australia, he has served on a number of committees. Since joining VBC he handles taxation, accounting and audit issues, manages project cash flows, liaises with investors in VBC projects and produces Offer Information Statements. He is Secretary of VBC’s Audit and Corporate Governance Committee, handles all loan facilities anddealings with shareholders and investors in joint ventures.

 

Anita Perkins

Anita PerkinsGeneral Manager, Sales, Marketing & PR

Anita is responsible for the overall sales, marketing and public relations functions for VBC. As the company increases housing operations, Anita's focus is on enhancing VBC's corporate image to communicate its commitment to housing affordability, sustainable housing and estate designs. From 2002 to 2008 Anita was VBC's PR & Marketing Manager, responsible for all community and public relations as well as VBC’s web marketing, publications and corporate branding. Anita graduated from university in 1995 and prior to joining the company worked in marketing and public relations roles in the construction and development industry.
